The Boerne Independent School District has announced that current Cibolo Creek Elementary School Principal Krista Pomeroy has been named Director of Student Support Services for the district. With Mrs. Pomeroy's departure, Kimberly Simmons, the current Cibolo Creek Assistant Principal, will serve as the Interim Principal at CCES for the remainder of the 2022-23 School Year.

The Director of Student Support Services oversees Boerne ISD Counselors and Nurses, as well as the district’s at-risk and homeless students, and more.

Mrs. Pomeroy has over 25 years of education experience, including the last three and a half years as Principal at Cibolo Creek, where she began in August 2019.

Boerne ISD Superintendent Dr. Thomas Price said, “Krista is exactly the person we were looking for to take this position. We are very excited. Krista’s years of experience not only as an administrator but as a teacher and instructional coach, as well as her counseling background, makes her the perfect fit to lead our Student Support Services Department.”

Prior to her time in Boerne ISD, Mrs. Pomeroy served as Principal in Southwest ISD and New Frontiers ISD.

Mrs. Pomeroy graduated from Chapman University in Orange, California with a BA in Psychology. After moving to Texas, she continued her studies at the University of Texas-San Antonio earning an MA in Counseling, followed by an MEd in Educational Leadership from Concordia University in Austin, TX.

Dr. Price continued, “We will continue to focus on the Whole Child, and Krista will be leading the charge. This position oversees not only our counselors, but our nurses as well. Krista’s experience will be a perfect fit to lead this department.”

In addition to serving as principal, Mrs. Pomeroy has had roles as an early childhood specialist, teacher, instructional coach, and assistant principal.

Mrs. Pomeroy is a Principal Advocacy Fellow with Raise Your Hand Texas. She is a cohort member of the Raising Family Partnerships Harvard Graduate School of Education and continues to seek opportunities to connect the school, home, and community through outreach, dialogue, and activities.

Boerne ISD will open the Spring 2023 semester on Monday, January 9th.
