Cats play West Campus, also entered in Luling tournament

The Comfort boys basketball has been busy and played five games last week. The Bobcats took on South San West Campus and then played in the Luling Tournament where they thumped out a few wins.

The Comfort boys basketball has been busy and played five games last week. The Bobcats took on South San West Campus and then played in the Luling Tournament where they thumped out a few wins.

CHS lost to West Campus and then played four games in Luling where they went 3-1 to finish last week at 3-2. The Bobcats now stand at 10-12. They traveled to Hondo on Tuesday.

At the Luling Tournament, Comfort won both its games last Thursday to start the event at 2-0. The Bobcats beat the Floresville JV, 53-33, and then defeated Harper, 60-23. Comfort had two more games on Friday and suffered a heartbreaking one-point loss to Smithville 56-55, but rebounded to pick apart Poteet, 62-42.

Before the tournament last Wednesday, the Cats suffered a 47-39 loss to South San West Campus.

Comfort was leading 22-15 at halftime but was outscored in the third quarter, 22-5, and never recovered.

Jaydin Steward finished with 10 points in that game, Terick Rodriguez 8, Ollie Engleman and Eli Gilliland both scored 7, Santos Hernandez 4, Joel Lozano and Tony Ybarra had 2 each and Landon Aguirre hit a free throw.
