Boerne High continued girls district basketball action on Saturday morning and the Lady Greyhounds beat up the Lady Bulldogs of Bandera and won the game by almost 70 points.
Boerne improves to 2-0 in 27-4A after Saturday’s 94-26 win and is 15-1 overall.
Last weekend’s game was moved from Friday to Saturday because of the BHS football team playing in the state finals on Friday night.
The Lady Greyhounds played at Incarnate Word on Monday in a non-district contest and after that will be off until they help co-host the Boerne ISD tournament next Tuesday and Wednesday.
Boerne had 10 players score in Saturday’s game and three of them finished with double digit points. Jamie Ruede paced the team with 31 points on 12 of 15 shooting and went 6 for 8 from the 3-point line in only 21 minutes of action.
Averi Aaron netted 19 points, Abby Smith tallied 10 points, Savannah Salinas added 7 points, Sushanna Cobb, Chloe Donnell and Meredith McLeod all netted 6 points, Mickena Randle chipped in with 5, while Jenna Ruede and Taegan King both finished with 2 points.
Aaron collected 6 rebounds, Jenna Ruede dished out 6 assists and Jamie Ruede came up with 7 steals.
Boerne shot 65 percent from 2-point range on 29 of 44 shooting, and also came up with 28 steals and scored 56 of its 94 points on points off turnovers, while they recorded 31 assists.
