The Boerne High girls basketball team picked up two wins over the weekend, defeating Wagner and Marble Falls.
BHS is 13-1 overall and opened district action on Tuesday at home against Davenport. Later in the week, the Boerne girls are scheduled to play at Bandera on Saturday 10:30 a.m. The Bandera game was moved from Friday to Saturday because of the Boerne High football team playing in the state finals on Friday.
Vs. Wagner
Wagner was ranked No. 1 in the greater San Antonio area, but the Lady Greyhounds still beat them by 10 points, 58-48, and were up by 20 at one point but then had some players get in foul trouble during Saturday’s game.
Averi Aaron finished with 25 points and 12 rebounds, Jamie Ruede recorded 14 points and 11 assists, Abby Smith tallied 9 points, Jenna Ruede and Savannah Salinas scored 4 points each and Chloe Donnell chipped in with 2 points.
Vs. Marble Falls
Boerne also mauled Marble Falls on Friday, 52-21.
Jamie Ruede paced the team with 21 points and Averi Aaron added 17 points and 13 rebounds. Abby Smith scored 6, Chloe Donnell chipped in with 5 points, while Jenna Ruede scored 3 points and led the team in assists with 6.
