Chargers hosted Holmes at home

Boerne Champion was at home Friday to host Holmes in boys basketball and the Chargers defeated the Huskies by 20 points.

Champion claimed the 84-64 victory and one of the Chargers, Braden Baum, reached a milestone after he tallied 25 points in Friday’s game to hit 1,000 for his high school career.

Champion improves its record to 14-1 overall. The Chargers were off Tuesday and not scheduled to play again until they meet Sotomayor Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Baum sank 5 of his 3-point attempts on his way to 25 points, Dakarai Hodge netted 15 points, Charlie Georgelos scored 14 and Mason Wyatt added 12 as four Chargers finished in double figures, and one came really close after Quinn Grable tallied 9 points.

Louis Hudspeth chipped in with 3 points, while Cole Riha, Baeden Burdick and Jackson Marshall all hit for 2.
