It’s always an intense match when the Geneva School of Boerne and Austin Regents girls soccer teams play and their last match was no exception.
After a 0-0 tie at the end of regulation, it went to penalty kicks before the Eagles prevailed, 1-0. With the win, Geneva improved to 6-2 in district play.
In the match, the Regents keeper made eight saves in the first half alone to keep it at 0-0 at the break.
The second half was almost an identical replay and the match ended at 0-0 and moved to PKs.
Geneva coach Marty Morris said, “it was probably the most exciting 80 minutes I’ve seen in a long time.”
Alex Doran, Hayle Heinen and Kayleigh Stringfellow converted their penalty kicks to help the Eagles win.
Geneva was also scheduled to play Hyde Park for their second meeting of the season.
