The Boerne Champion volleyball team was on the road Friday and fell in straight sets to Smithson Valley.
The Lady Rangers won the match, 25-21, 25-17, 25-20 and drop the Lady Chargers to 30-10 overall and 8-5 in district.
Champion hosted Kerrville Tivy on Tuesday to decide third and fourth place in District 26-5A. The Lady Chargers and Lady Antlers were both 8-5 entering the match, with the Kerrville school winning their first-round meeting.
The other two playoff teams from the district, New Braunfels Canyon and Smithson Valley, were both 12-1 in 26-5A entering Tuesday and battling for first and second place. The Cougarettes and Rangers split their two matches with each other during district play.
In last Friday’s match, Raylynn Pitts had the team’s only ace, while Kelsey Rogers led the team in kills with 13 and added 10 digs.
Ella Coleman finished with 3 kills and a dig, Skye Conroe tallied 5 kills and 2 blocks, Erin Fallon came up with 11 assists and 5 digs, Sadie Hoyt tallied 5 digs, Emmy Koke had 3 blocks and 2 kills, Izzy Maszak chipped in with 14 assists and 16 digs and Gabbie Rossello recorded 10 digs.
