Lady Chargers breeze past Pats in 26-5A opener

The Boerne Champion volleyball team didn’t have any problems in its district opener when the Lady Chargers hosted Veterans Memorial at Charger Gym last Friday.

Champion rolled past the Lady Patriots in three sets and didn’t give up many points in the win. The Lady Chargers barely let Veterans Memorial get into double-digit points and won, 25-12, 25-15, 25-11.

Champion is 23-5 overall and start 26-5A action at 1-0. The Lady Chargers were at home Tuesday to host Seguin and then visit New Braunfels Canyon on Friday.

Emma Wegleitner finished with 8 kills, 9 digs and 2 blocked shot, Kelsey Rogers added 7 kills and came up with 3 blocks, Izzy Maszak tallied 16 assists, Sadie Hoyt had 6 digs, Ella Coleman chipped in with 5 kills, 3 digs and 3 blocks, Gabriela Rossello had 8 digs, Erin Fallon turned in 10 assists and 6 digs and Raylynn Pitts recorded 5 kills.
