The Geneva School of Boerne struggled on both sides of the ball Friday when the Eagles visited TAPPS state power Regents School of Austin.

The Knights were impressive in defeating Geneva, 47-0, to drop the Eagles to 1-2 this season.

Geneva will look to bounce back Friday when the Eagles host Blanco in Boerne at 7 p.m.

In Friday night’s game, Austin Regents kicked field goals of 32 and 29 yards and scored on a touchdown run of four yards in the first quarter and jumped to a 13-0 lead.

From there, the Knights really blew it open in the second stanza and found the end zone four times – once on a short run and the other three on passes of 26, 26 and 36 yards – for 27 points in the period to take a 40-0 lead into the halftime break.

The Austin school tacked on one more touchdown in the final period to make it 47-0 after the Knights hit a 36-yard touchdown pass.

Geneva had a hard time getting its offense going and was held without a point for the first time this year. The Eagles had tallied 27 in its opener against St. Michael’s and then scored 21 last week in a close loss to Randolph.

The 47 points Geneva gave up on Friday is the most points it has surrendered this year.

Geneva’s lone win this year came on its home field, while it has dropped two games on the road in consecutive weeks.
