Geneva could have easily been discouraged by Randolph quarterback Aaron Davis's 79-yard touchdown that put the Ro-Hawks up 27-14 at the 5:36 mark in the 4th quarter, but they didn't let the score get to them.
Quarterback Jacob Rosenstiel and wide receiver Hayden Allen helped Geneva fight back by connecting for a 20-yard touchdown that put the Eagles within six at the 2:52 mark.
The effort would not be enough, as the Eagles failed to recover an onside kick that could have put them in position to tie or win the game.
Randolph maintained a 27-21 score to win the game and go 2-0 in the season. The Ro-Hawks will aim for a 3-0 record when it competes against Young Men's Leadership Academy in its second to last non-district game on Thursday.
Geneva, meanwhile, are tied 1-1 early in the season, and will look to rebound when it plays the Austin Regents on Sept. 9.
Eagles Coach Julius Scott commended his team for playing hard all four quarters.
"I loved their spirit," he said. "They kept pushing through, no matter who made a mistake."
Rosenstiel scored two of the Eagles' total touchdowns. Besides his touchdown connection with Allen, Rosenstiel hauled in a 1-yard rushing touchdown that gave the Eagles a 14-13 score at the 8:07 mark in the third quarter.
The Ro-Hawks took a 20-14 lead at the 1:14 mark in the third when Austin Young returned a 51-yard punt for a touchdown. Young played another pivotal role in the Ro-Hawks' win when he picked off Rosenstiel at the 8:43 mark. Randolph's turn with the ball culminated with Davis' 79-yard touchdown - his second long touchdown in the game.
Davis ran down the left side of the field for a 94-yard touchdown to give the Ro-Hawks a 13-7 lead at the 3:04 mark in the second quarter.
Davis also produced the first score of the game - a 1-yard run - that gave Randolph a 6-0 lead at the 2:30 mark in the first quarter. Randolph's extra point was blocked.
