Ingram visited Comfort on Friday night for a non-district football game, and the stingy Warriors defense didn’t allow the Bobcats to score a point.
Ingram won the contest 20-0 to drop the Bobcats to 0-2 this season.
Comfort will look for its first win of the year this Friday when the Bobcats hit the road for the first time this year and play at archrival Blanco at 7 p.m.
In the first quarter, Saige Kneese put the Warriors ahead 8-0 after he scrambled in from 4 yards out with 5:15 left in the period. Kneese also ran the two-point try.
The Warriors added to their lead in the second when Maverick Delgado hauled in a 20-yard touchdown pass from Kneese, and Ingram jumped out to a 14-0 lead after it went for two but didn’t convert.
Ingram took the 14-0 advantage into the halftime break and extended it in the third when Kneese hurt the Bobcats once again with his running ability and scored on a short scamper to make it 20-0 after the Warriors tried – but failed – on another two-point try.
Neither team scored in the fourth period, and that’s where it stayed at 20-0.
Comfort struggled offensively and only totaled 84 yards in the game. The Bobcats rushed for those 84 yards on 26 attempts with Micah Nye gaining 20 yards, Mason West gaining 18 yards, Isaac Duran gaining 18 yards, Jaydin Stewart gaining 15 yards and Topper Sterling gaining 13 yards. The Bobcats attempted nine passes on the night and completed one.
Ingram improved to 1-1 on the season.
