Margie Bennight Raute, 92, of Comfort, went to be with the Lord peacefully on Tuesday, August 23, surrounded by her family.
Margie was married to Harold “Cotton” Raute for 55 years, and they are now back to together in Heaven.
Margie and Cotton owned and operated Bruno’s Curve in Comfort, Texas, for many years. Margie loved gardening, cooking, baking and spending holidays with her family.
Margie is survived by her children and their spouses, Michael Raute, Gloria and Jim Lamb. Linda Gilbert, Cookie Althaus,
and Daniel and Sally Schonberg; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Along with her parents, Margie was preceded in death by two children, Shirley Eckhardt and Dennis Schonberg;
grandchildren Levi James Lamb, Thomas Wayne Lamb and Rio L. Schonberg; and siblings Gladys Flannery, Florence Keel and Wilbert Bennight.
Visitation will be held on Monday August 29, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Chapel of the Schaetter Funeral Home of Comfort.
Graveside Services and Interment will be held on Tuesday, August 30, at 10 a.m. in the Boerne City Cemetery with Richard Vandeventer officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Boerne Police Foundation, Comfort VFD or to the charity of one’s choice.
