Both the Boerne Champion and Boerne High tennis teams were in action last Saturday against Clark and Warren in Boerne.
When one team was playing Clark the other was playing Warren on its home court. Later in the afternoon, they switched opponents and it turned into a good day for the BISD schools.
Boerne High defeated Clark, 11-8, and then whipped Warren, 17-2. The Greyhounds improve to 5-2 and play at Ingram on Wednesday.
Champion started off by beating Warren, 19-0, in its first match of the day and then changed things up against Clark.
Since the Chargers and Cougars had already played in a tournament earlier this year, they decided to only play doubles matches on Saturday afternoon.
Champion won the doubles matches, 6-4, but since they didn’t play a complete match with singles included, Chargers coach Joey Cantu said he didn’t count that as a team win.
So Champion picked up one team victory on Saturday and is 5-2 this year. The Chargers were scheduled to play at Smithson Valley on Tuesday.
