Geneva girls post 4-0 record at tournament

The Geneva School of Boerne girls basketball team hosted the Hill Country Classic tourney last weekend and went unbeaten at the event.

Geneva won all four games played and improved to 15-1 overall. They host Providence Tuesday in a district game.

At the tourney, Geneva almost doubled up Carrizo Springs, 50-26.

Micah Howard led the team with 14 points, Alexa Elizondo scored 10, Sydney Griffey added 8, Chloe Donnell netted 7, Maegan Riebel had 6, while Suzie Nilsson and Brynn Riebel both hit for 2.

Griffey grabbed 10 rebounds, Elizondo came up with 6 steals and Donnell had 4 steals.

Up next, Geneva defeated San Antonio Christian, 53-42.

Chloe Donnell and Alexa Elizondo both dropped in 14 points, Michael Howard added 11, Maegan Riebel finished with 8 and Sydney Griffey netted 6.

Griffey also grabbed 11 rebounds and Elizondo came up with 5 steals.

Geneva then knocked off Legacy Prep Christian Academy, 44-35.

Alexa Elizondo paced the team with 13 points, Chloe Donnell added 9, Micah Howard and Maegan Riebel both scored 8 and Brynn Riebel hit for 2.

Sydney Griffey and Maegan Riebel both snagged 7 rebounds, Donnell had 3 assists, Elizondo came up with 5 steals and Howard had 3 steals.

In its final game at the tourney, the Eagles beat Rosehill Christian from Tomball, 48-31.

Chloe Donnell paced Geneva with 16 points, Maegan Riebel added 11, Alexa Elizondo tallied 9, Micah Howard scored 7, while Sydney Griffey and Brynn Riebel both netted 2.

Griffey led the team on the boards with 9 rebounds, Donnell dished out 3 assists and also came up with 3 steals.
