Geneva boys split last two district games

The Geneva School of Boerne boys basketball team played two district games and split the two.

On Tuesday, Geneva lost to Brentwood Christian but last Friday, the Eagles defeated Hyde Park.

The win against Hyde Park was Geneva’s first district victory of the year. The Eagles are 11-12 overall and 1-4 in district.

Geneva is scheduled to visit St. Michael’s on Friday.

Vs. Brentwood Christian

The Eagles fell to the Bears of Brentwood on Tuesday. Geneva had a seven-point halftime lead but the Bears outscored the Eagles in the second half, 33-17, for the 79-63 win.

Spencer Yarborough led the Eagles with 17 points, Chaz Lutz finished with 14 points and Aidan Christal added 12.

Vs. Hyde Park

The Geneva boys took on Hyde Park last Friday night and picked up its first district win of the year, 72-60.

The Eagles started off red hot behind the 3-point line, going 5 for 5 in the first quarter and scoring a season high for points in a quarter with 27. They never let up from there and recorded the win.

Chaz Lutz led the Eagles in scoring with 21 points and Spencer Yarborough added 18 points.
