Boerne Champion emerged with a victory at Dripping Springs Tuesday night in boys basketball as the Chargers began the second round of 26-5A action.

It was a low-scoring affair but the Chargers claimed the 34-26 win after they were off last Friday and returned to the court Tuesday.

Champion improves to 8-1 in district and completes the season sweep of the Tigers. They are 21-5 overall and host Alamo Heights Friday at Charger Gym.

Champion only hit a couple of 3s on Tuesday, one from Jesse Peart and the other from Braxton Burdick but Peart did most of his damage at the free-throw line where he went 12 for 14 and finished with 21 points.

Burdick added 6 points, Braden Baum had 5 and Ryan Erdos scored 2 as only four Chargers scored in the game.

Baum grabbed 6 rebounds and Peart dished out 2 assists.
