Robert Lee Cooper
December 5, 1931 – July 21, 2022
Robert (Bob) Lee Cooper passed away peacefully on July 21, 2022, at the age of 90. He was born on December 5, 1931, in San Antonio and was the son of Annie Lee Schuehle and Henry Clay Cooper.
After his father died in World War II, he was raised by his step-father, O.V. Gray. Bob attended school in San Antonio at Brackenridge High School, San Antonio College and St. Mary’s University. He graduated from the New York School of Finance.
He married his wife, Judith (Judy) LaCroix, on July 15, 1961, and lived to celebrate 61 years of marriage. They had three children and 7seven grandchildren.
Bob was a well-respected commercial real estate broker and the founder/owner of Bob Cooper Properties for 32 years, as well as an active member of the community. He served on the board of directors of the San Antonio Board of Realtors, the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and as a chairman of Incarnate Word College Development Board to name a few. He gave of his time and resources to the Archdiocese of San Antonio and other volunteer activities such as Meals on Wheels. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Bob is survived by his wife, Judy; sons Steve (Lana) and Robert (Dana); daughter Michelle Phinizy (Will); and grandchildren Laura (James) Christopher, Jacob Phinizy, Jonathan Cooper, Caleb Cooper, Abigail Cooper, Carson Cooper and Brennan Cooper.
A Rosary at 10 a.m. and Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. will be held St. Elizabeth Ann Seton on Thursday, August 4. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society at https://setonparish.org/st-vincent-de-paul or your favorite organization.
