The Hill Country Comets are still blazing the track and smashing the field as they head down the homestretch of their season.

The team qualified multiple athletes at both the state and national levels.

For some, training began in the fall as they participated in an indoor season, then an additional 250 athletes, ages 8 to 18, joined forces for the spring/summer season which began early April.

To ramp up the competition, the Comets hosted the 3rd Annual Comers Hill Country Championships at Champion High School on June 4 with more than 1,000 athletes participating and then there was competition at various local meets in the surrounding area.

On July 8, the Comets hosted Region 3 and Region 15 in the TAAF Regional Qualifier Meet at Champion, with the help of the Boerne Parks and Recreation team, and ended the 2022 summer season at the TAAF State Games in Corpus Christi, held last weekend, July 21-24, and there is also the AAU Junior Olympic Games in Greensboro, North Carolina, July 30 - Aug. 6.
