Geneva School of Boerne tied for 15th place among all 5A Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools in this year’s Henderson Cup standings.
The Henderson Cup, much like the UIL’s Lone Star Cup, measures how a school performs in various TAPPS activities in athletics and fine arts at the high school level throughout the year. At the end of each school year, TAPPS recognizes the winners in each classification.
Geneva earned 38 points in 5A to tie Brentwood Christian School – Austin. The Eagles tallied 19 points in fine arts and 19 in athletics to get its 38.
Of the 19 athletic points, 16 of them came on the girls side as basketball and soccer tallied 6 points each, while volleyball and golf picked up 2 points apiece.
On the boys side, baseball scored 2 points and the basketball team earned 1 point.
Vocal earned the most in fine arts with 8, followed by Orchestra and Band picking up 4 each, while Art tallied 2 and Academics 1.
Geneva has won nine Hen derson Cups in its rich history and earned them over a period of 10 years with the last coming during the 2018-19 school year. They have won two in 4A, 3A and 2A and three as a 1A.
The nine Henderson Cup’s Geneva has earned is tied with Hallettsville Sacred Heart for third most across the state in TAPPS. Dallas Bishop Lynch and Muenster Sacred Heart have the most with 13 apiece and Liberty Argyle has 12.
The Eagles have been a TAPPS 5A high school the last two years but will drop down to 4A for the next two years beginning this fall.
