Two Boerne ISD athletes will play in the College World Series set to begin this weekend in Omaha, Nebraska.

Boerne Champion graduate Jordan Thompson will play with Texas A&M University and Boerne High graduate Douglas Hodo will compete with the University of Texas.

It’s the second straight trip to the CWS for Hodo and the Longhorns, while this will be Thompson’s first trip to the CWS and the first for the Aggies since the 2017 season.

UT has been to the College World Series a record 38 times, while this will be Texas A&M’s seventh trip to the CWS.

Both the Longhorns and Aggies open the 2022 College World Series with games on Friday. Texas played Notre Dame and Texas A&M played Oklahoma.

If both the Longhorns and Aggies win in the first round, they would meet in the second round.
