Boerne Champion had a total of eight softball players recognized as all-district by the 26-5A coaches.
Senior Ashley Ottmers, senior Carmen Vela and senior Krista Tarver were first-team selections, while senior Gabi Vela and sophomore Riley Murrish were second-team picks.
Three more Lady Chargers were named honorable mention after freshman Lily Ritchie, junior Ava Trevino and junior Madison Hall made the HM list.
Champion finished the year at 15-10-1 overall and posted a 10-6 record in district where they finished fourth and qualified for the postseason.
The Lady Chargers opened the playoffs with a big win and stunned No. 1 state-ranked Leander in the first round.
Leander was without its top recruited pitcher, who will play at the University of Oklahoma next year after she suffered a hand injury before the last game of the regular season, and the Chargers made them pay and beat them, 9-8.
After upsetting the nationally-ranked Lions, Champion moved on to the second round where they faced McCollum and battled for 11 innings with the Cowgirls before they were eliminated, 5-2, to end the 2022 season.
