Jodie Koth will be stepping away from coaching and teaching at Boerne High and will be replaced by Tyson Stewart, formerly of Northside’s Harlan High School.

Koth said she hopes to stay in education at another level, perhaps at an elementary school, but isn’t sure where that will be as of this week.

Koth coached and taught at Boerne High for three seasons and said she’ll miss everything associated with the program but added that it was time to move on.

In 2020, the Boerne tennis squad won silver medals at the team state tennis tournament in College Station for the program’s best finish ever. Koth said her fondest memory during her three years came during the team’s run to state when they were finally able to get over the hump and qualify for the tourney.

“Beating Wimberley in 2020 in the regional finals to go to state, that was my best memory,” she said.

The Greyhounds also performed well in the spring individual seasons over the years and recently earned four state medals last spring, including a state championship in boys singles by Koth’s son, Justin Koth.
