Kenneth Lee Morris

Kenneth Lee Morris passed away peacefully on May 18, 2022, at the age of 79. He was born on September 7, 1942, in Princeton, Illinois, to Mabel and James Morris. He grew up on a farm in Tiskilwa, Illinois, with his nine siblings.

After graduating from high school, his passion for cars led him to working in a body shop before enlisting in the Air Force. Ken served four years excelling in electronics which later led to his IT profession. 

Ken married Sue Barnes in 1999 and they moved to Texas with Ken securing a job as IT director with Benefit Planners which later became United Health Care. He was a member of a Monday Night Bible Study and Genesis Class. 

After attending a Walk to Emmaus he joined a men’s Emmaus breakfast group that met every Wednesday morning. He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Boerne.

Ken was an active father being involved in his children’s sports and was a Boy Scout leader and served on the Boy Scout Council in Elmhurst, Illinois. His son, Kevin, achieved an Eagle Scout certificate. 

Having a passion for flying, Ken had a pilot’s license and owned two airplanes in which he would lease to private parties. He also enjoyed spending time, boating, fishing and caring for his beautiful property on Kentucky Lake. 

Ken is survived by his loving wife, Sue, of 23 years; his two children by his previous wife, Linda, Kevin (Michelle) and Lynnette; three stepchildren, Michael, Tracy and Bryan Apolskis; and five grandchildren, Taylor, Addison and Meagan Morris and Shane Floyd and Lena Apolskis.

Ken will be missed. He had a passionate, kind heart and very quick wit.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Presbyterian Church, Boerne, Texas.
