Geneva School of Boerne’s baseball season came to an end earlier this week when the Eagles were eliminated from the playoffs by Brooke Hill, 11-0.

The Eagles finish the season at 15-4-1 overall and advanced to the second round of the playoffs this year.

Brooke Hill took control early and scored 2 in the first and 5 in the second for the 7-0 lead after the first two frames.

It stayed that way until the sixth inning when Brooke Hill added 4 more runs in the sixth to open up an 11-0 lead and kick in the mercy rule. The game ended with a 3-run homer from Brooke Hill.

Geneva’s best chance of scoring came in the top of the second when Chaz Lutz tripled to start off the inning but was stranded at third after the next three batters were retired in order with a ground out, fly out and a strike out. Lutz also made it safely to base in the sixth after he reached on an error.

Geneva’s only other hit in the game came in the sixth on a single from Guy George but he was stranded at second.

Grant Roberson walked and Hudson McNew reached on a fielder’s choice and were the team’s other base runners.

Shawn George started on the hill and went 2 innings before Guy George finished out the game. The duo gave up 9 hits, 11 runs, 3 walks and combined for 3 strikeouts.
