Boerne High placed third at the Region IV-4A boys golf tournament in Victoria and is headed to this year’s 4A state tournament.
The Greyhounds will compete at state Monday – Tuesday, May 9-10, at the Legends Golf Course in Kingsland.
Kingsville won the region via tiebreaker with a twoday score of 635 (320,315), ahead of the Fredericksburg team that also scored a 635 (305,330), while the Boerne boys were third with a 651 (320,330) in a field of 16 teams.
For BHS, Price Hill tied for 5th with rounds of 74 and 79 for a 153, Braden Baize tied for 8th after rounds of 74 and 80 for a 154, Jaxon Baize shot consecutive rounds of 87 for a 174 that placed him 34th, Colton Hoegemeyer tied for 36th after shooting rounds of 92 and 85 for a 177, while Cole Gentry finished with a 187 after rounds of 85 and 102 for 55th in a field of 94 individual golfers.
