The Geneva School of Boerne was busy and played three baseball games this week.

Geneva was at Holy Cross Monday and hosted New Braunfels Christian Academy on Wednesday and won both games.

The Eagles are 6-2 overall and were looking to make it a clean sweep when they hosted Schertz John Paul II on Friday.

Vs. Holy Cross

Geneva pitcher Jake Roberson mowed ’em down during Monday’s game in San Antonio and struck out 11 batters to help the Eagles win, 9-2.

Roberson only gave up 1 hit, no earned runs and walked 3 batters.

Chase Doran pitched the final two innings and scattered 3 hits, yielded 1 earned run, walked 1 and struck out 1.

Brady Chandler hit 2 doubles and 2 singles, drove in 2 runs and scored 2 runs, Doran knocked out 2 singles, while Harris Priesmeyer singled, walked and scored 2 runs.

The Eagles were up 1-0 after the third inning and scored 3 runs in the fourth for the 4-0 lead.

Holy Cross scratched for single runs in the fifth and sixth and it was 4-2, but Geneva closed it out with 5 runs in the top of the seventh.

Vs. NBCA

The Eagles exploded for 11 runs in the second to take control and went on to win against New Braunfels Christian Academy, 19-6, in four and a half innings.

Geneva was up 2-1 after one inning and then scored 11 in the second for the 13-1 lead after they batted 15 in the inning.

After NBCA tallied 2 runs in the third to make it 13-3, the Eagles pulled away with 5 runs in the bottom of the third for the 18-3 lead.

Brady Chandler singled, walked, drove in a run and scored 3 times, Chase Doran singled and picked up 3 RBI, Gray Bruner crossed home plate twice, Rooster Jons doubled and picked up 3 RBI, Jake Roberson doubled and singled, collected 3 RBI and scored 3 runs, TJ Cross scored twice and Harris Priesmeyer hit 2 singles, pushed in 4 runs and scored 3 runs.

Bryce Hanover picked up the win in 2.2 innings of work and gave up 3 hits, 3 runs, 4 walks and struck out 4.

Bruner scattered 2 hits, gave up no earned runs and 2 walks in 1.1 innings, while Doran closed it out with one inning of work and didn’t give up a hit, walk or run and fanned 1 batter.
