The Geneva School of Boerne track and field team competed at the Don Hoover Invitational hosted by Antonian last week.
Several Eagles turned in solid performances, including Brady Chandler, who blew away the field in the pole vault after he cleared 15-0 to win the event and set a new school record in the process.
By clearing 15-0, Chandler also set a record at Antonian’s stadium.
At the event, both the Geneva boys and girls varsity teams placed 10th where the top 8 score points.
Varsity Boys
The Geneva boys tallied 18 points for 10th after Chandler scored 10 points by finishing first in the pole vault, while Mikhail Boespflug came in 4th in the discus with a throw of 120-0 for 5 more points and finished 6th in the shot put with toss of 40-2 for 3 more points to round out the scoring.
Varsity Girls
The Geneva girls were 10th with 20 points.
Maegan Riebel and Madeline Egbert competed in the shot put and placed in the top 5.
Riebel was 4th with a throw of 30-6.50 to earn 5 points and Egbert finished 5th after she tossed the shot 29-6 for 4 points.
Riebel and Egbert also finished 3rd and 5th in the discus after Riebel flung the discus 90-1 for 3rd and 6 more points, while Egbert was 5th at 85-7 for 4 more points.
Annabelle Halbach finished 8th in the 400 with a time of 1:06.66 for a point to round out the scoring.
