The high school soccer season came to an end for both Boerne High teams after they were defeated in the first round of the 5A-DII playoffs last week.

The BHS boys took on Liberty Hill last Thursday and lost in a shootout, while the Lady Greyhounds played Cedar Park on Friday.

Varsity Girls

The Lady Greyhounds ran into a buzzsaw after the Lady Timberwolves won Friday’s contest in Dripping Springs, 6-0.

Cedar Park was up 3-0 at halftime and then tacked on 3 second-half goals.

BHS coach Jeremy Shannon said the Lady Wolves were very good and added that he wouldn’t be surprised if they won state.

Boerne High ends the year at 14-9-1 overall and will graduate seniors in Kailey Stringfellow, Sophia Harper, Avery Ukeiley, Amelia Cohoon, Kennedy Luevano and Kinsley Sawyer.

Varsity Boys

Boerne ends its season at 14-5-1 overall after last Thursday’s loss to Liberty Hill at Shelton Stadium in Buda Hays.

The Hounds and Panthers were tied 2-2 at the end of regulation, and after nobody scored in overtime, it went to penalty kicks.

Liberty Hill was perfect with its penalty kicks and went 5 for 5, while the Greyhounds missed their first kick and made their second through fourth kicks.

The Panthers were up 4-3 after four kicks and once they made their fifth kick it was over since the Greyhounds were down 5-3 with one kick left.

Seniors for the Boerne boys this year are Hudson Stevens, Liam Griffiths, Ben Niedecken, Austin Vecino, Aaron Vasquez, Connor Eddy, David Gill and Ian Scanio.
