Josephine S. Thompson of Boerne went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at the age of 82. She was born in Bellville, Texas, on August 3, 1941, to Albert J. Schoelman, Jr. and Alice (Schultz) Schoelman.

Josephine graduated from Brackenridge High School in 1959, where she was a majorette in her senior year. She attended San Antonio College, where she met the love of her life, Cliff, in the spring of 1960. They were married on June 3, 1961. Josephine and Cliff had three children: Cliff, Jr. (C.J.), Melissa, and Jennifer. She enjoyed being a housewife and ran the household well. Josephine was very creative. She sewed, painted with oils and watercolors, quilted, crocheted, and hooked rugs. Josephine was a real estate agent and became an antique dealer, traveling around the country buying and selling antiques with her husband. She is preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Jennifer S. Thompson; her brother, Albert John Schoelman III; and her sister, Virginia McGuire.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Clifford J. Thompson, a son, Clifford J. Thompson, Jr. (Trenda), a daughter, Melissa Odesky (Howard); three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many extended family members. The family would like to express gratitude to Home Instead Senior Care of Boerne and Trinity Hospice. They took great care of Josephine during her long illness with dementia and made her passing as comfortable as possible. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Boerne First Baptist Church, 631 S. School St., Boerne, Texas, 78006. Reception to follow.
