Paul DeNicola, 68, died on Dec. 14, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. He was the loving husband of the late Theda Sueltenfuss.
Paul was born Sept. 22, 1956, in Detroit, Michigan, where his father was stationed in the U.S. Air Force. Paul was the adored son of the late Mike and Jeanne DeNicola. He grew up in Middlebury, Connecticut, and graduated from Southbury High School in 1974. He attended Chaminade College.
A free spirit and gifted artist, Paul poured his talent into music and craftsmanship, refurbishing and selling guitars. For a time, he was a member of the band The Morlocks.
He loved the Southwest and ultimately settled in Boerne, Texas, where he met, fell in love, and married Theda.
They shared 20 wonderful years on her family ranch, where Paul lovingly tended to a myriad of animals — alpacas, llamas, sheep, goats, cows, donkeys and mini horses — all cherished and well cared for.
Paul’s kindness extended beyond the ranch, as he also devoted his time to caring for elderly neighbors, who in turn became like family to him.
Paul is survived by one sister, Donna (Dave) Morelli, and three brothers, Michael (Cheryl), David (Andrea) and Steven DeNicola; one aunt, Roberta Riggs; and beloved niece and nephews Andrew DeNicola, Jenny DeNicola, Christopher Morelli and Matthew Morelli.
He is also survived by his closest friend, Larry Ciano and his family.
Paul was a friend to many, giving his time, companionship and trust. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends who loved him dearly.
