It is with regret that we share the passing of Marcella Collins Anderson, who died March 3, 2025, in the peace of her home. Born Aug. 14, 1940, in Guntersville, Alabama, to Gara Hallmark Collins and Elvin H. Collins, Marcella touched the lives of many throughout her journey.

Marcella dedicated herself wholeheartedly to raising three beloved daughters, nurturing them with love and kindness. In 1966, she moved to San Antonio/Boerne, where her devotion to her girls created a foundation of love that would carry with them throughout their lives.

Marcella joined Alanon in 1975 and committed herself to this program for 50 years. Her efforts helped establish a new group in Boerne, where she continued to inspire those around her.

Her faith blossomed as she became a member of Boerne Baptist Church and she found joy in the services and fellowship.

She met and married Roger Anderson in the church, and their years together were filled with love, support and happiness. Marcella held a special place in her heart for Roger, who matched her affection with unwavering dedication.

Marcella’s kindness extended beyond her family; she had a remarkable gift for making friends throughout her lifetime. Her legacy of love and compassion will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Gara Hallmark Collins, father, Elven Collins, and brother, Sherril Collins.

Marcella leaves behind her husband, Roger Anderson; three daughters: Sharon (Robert) Warren, Deborah Arnold, and Carol (Garey) Mesmer; eight grandchildren, Damon Warren, Adrian Warren, Melanie Warren, Alekzandria Arnold, Ian Arnold, James Raines, Kyle Raines and Kate Roy; and 11 great-grandchildren.
