Our father Antonio passed away peacefully at the age of 65 on Dec. 20, 2024, joining his beloved family in Heaven.

He was born Nov. 7, 1959, in Jalisco, Mexico, to Jesus “Chuy” Salas and Epifania “Fanny” Salas. From childhood, he embraced life fully, seizing every opportunity. In his early adulthood, he played semi-professional soccer in Mexico, earning numerous recognitions.

After marrying our mother, they relocated to Boerne, Texas, in 1985. Here, he had the privilege of coaching a men’s soccer team, “Apaseo.”

Despite being far from their homeland together, they worked hard to ensure their children enjoyed a fulfilling life, rich with love, laughter and bedtime stories that inevitably turned into life lessons.

Our father cherished every moment. He enjoyed writing poetry, listening to his cassette tapes, going on a scenic drive and capturing a “picture in action.” It brings us immense happiness knowing he fulfilled his goal of bringing joy and leaving a lasting impact on the lives of those around him.

He is survived by his life partner and best friend Lula “Tarry”; his daughters Xiomara “Tambo” (Lalo “Lalin”), Mariel “Lobo” (Sonny “Papa”) and Luna Mar “Tilin” (Austen “Guero”); his grandkids, Nicole “Pintlali,” Max “Rubio,” Amelia “Yanilou,” Mia “Ratita,” and Ana “Zapata”; and two sisters, Elvira and Chayo, as well as many other beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews in Mexico.
