Virgil Feller

Virgil Feller

April 10, 1927 – December 13, 2023

In loving memory of Virgil Feller, a man whose actions spoke volumes where words fell short. Born on April 10, 1927, and passed on December 13, 2023. Virgil was a cherished husband, grandpa, and affectionately known as “Boss” to some.

Drafted into the United States Army at the age of 18, Virgil’s commitment to service and honor defined his life’s journey. His early years were spent unloading box cars and honing his skills in the machine shop. Through dedication and expertise, he rose to become Chief Guard at Camp Stanley.

He loved to hunt and reload bullets. He loved rodeo, even rode some bulls and roped in his younger years. He could make a friend out of a deer or a squirrel, but his favorite was his cat.

He is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Josie Feller, in-laws Lon and Annie Welch, brothers Bob, Glen, Alfred, and Kenny Feller, sisters Maurine Price (Bill) and Rosie Newton (Jack).

He leaves behind his wife of 71 years, Billie Jo Welch; two sons Pete Feller (Racene), and Bruce Feller; one daughter, Wanda Parmer (Glen); seven grandchildren Ty Parmer, Chance Parmer (Kearsten), Adam Feller (Lauren), Eli Feller (Katie), Kasey Citrolo (Mike), Chelsea Gossett (Hunter), Cadyn Feller; nine great-grandchildren, Audrie, Addison, Jethro, Brooklyn, Beckett, Sterling, Tripp, Ella and Henley, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and brothers and sisters in-law.

We honor a life etched with simplicity of routines, quiet strength, and a little stubbornness. A man who asked for nothing, except maybe a glass of bourbon now and again.

We will remember you in the legacy you have left, in the steadfast honor you lived by, in the lingering scent of a cup of coffee, in a small critter looking for kindness, and in the echo of your tools.

Visitation will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, December 17, 2023, at Ebensberger Fisher Funeral Home in Boerne. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, December 18, 2023, at Vance Cemetery in Vance, Texas.
