Jeannie Ann Clark was born April 23, 1954, and passed peacefully surrounded by her husband, children, and extended family at 12:03 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, 2024, at the age of 70. A graveside service was held Thursday, Dec. 19, 2024 at the Boerne Cemetery.
Jeannie was born and raised in San Antonio and spent many years traveling with her parents, as her dad served active duty as a pilot in the United States Air Force.
Her family eventually settled in Schertz, Texas where she attended Samuel Clemens High School and was an active member of the dance team. Her extracurricular activities prepared her well for her role as a cheerleader for the San Antonio Charros football team during their inaugural season.
She married Donald Ray Clark on Oct. 4, 1980, who remained her dedicated and loyal husband for the next 44 years. Together they raised four children before settling into their dream home in Boerne, Texas.
Jeannie had a passion for cultivating cacti and succulents, procuring vintage dolls, perfumes, and other collectibles, as well as a love for animals both furry and feathered.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Donald Clark; two sons, Jason Bartlett and John (Brooke) Clark; two daughters, Stephanie Whitenack and Ashley Clark; six grandchildren, Reagan Whitenack, Kennedy Whitenack, Caitlin Whitenack, Marley Clark, Wesley Clark and Weston Clark; one brother, Donald “Donny” (Jacqueline) Lerche; two sisters, Barbara (Rick) Matthews and Holly (Robby) Mahler; a brother-in-law, David (LaNell) Clark; two sisters-in-law, Sharon (Edward) Dean and Susan (Marty) Fowler; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Myron Henry Lerche; her mother, Betty Lou Lerche; her brother, Richard Lerche; and her sister-inlaw, Kay Taggart and spouse Duane.
Her family would like to extend their gratitude to the countless healthcare professionals who guided and participated in her medical care over the past several years. Special thanks goes to her oncologist Dr. Steven Kalter, Primary Care Physician Dr. Rudolfo Zarate, as well as the nurses and staff at CHRISTUS Home Health and Palliative Care and VITAS Hospice inpatient unit.
Thanks is also given for her sisters and brothers at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, where she was an active member.
The family would also like to extend their deepest appreciation to the community for the many acts of kindness, words of sympathy, extended friendships and the outpouring of love and support during their time of bereavement.
