Outside of his profession, Dean spent time with his family and friends golfing, hunting and fishing all across Texas, Mexico, Colorado and New Mexico. Dean also enjoyed spending leisure time entertaining others by singing and playing his guitar.

Dean is remembered by many who he coached for years in Little League Baseball and mentored in life and career decisions. He spent much of his time as a member and productive asset to multiple fraternal organizations such as Masonic Lodge and The Sons of Confederate Veterans.
