James Braddock
James Bradley Braddock was born to J.D. Braddock and Omzell Davis Braddock in Uvalde, Texas, on July 13, 1935.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 19531962. Throughout his life, he exemplified the value of hard work, providing for his family as a heavy equipment operator. When asked, James had stories to tell of his role in building local landmarks including San Antonio’s medical center.

He met his future wife, Victoria Braddock, at the Farmer’s Daughter and they married in September of 1964. They raised three children, and later retired to a quiet life in Boerne, Texas.
James was a loyal friend who, for many years, could always be found visiting with someone at “the top of the hill” (Flagstop Café). He loved watching westerns, playing solitaire, and playing dominos with family, especially his grandkids.
James Braddock passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones on December 19, 2023, at the age of 88 years old. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Victoria Braddock; son Curtis Braddock (Cindee); two daughters, Yvette Wampler (David), and Vivian Wilson (Cletus); seven grandchildren, Brandon Edmonds, H. Melody Braddock, Walter Wilson, Evan Wilson, Kara Wilson, Riley Wampler, Cameron Wampler; and siblings Joe and Donald Braddock, and Patricia Kowalik (Edwin).
He is preceded in death by his parents J.D. and Omzell (Davis) Braddock, his parents-in-law Eddie and Laura (Barsch) Klinksiek; brother, Clifton Braddock; and sister, Lue Ella Boone.
We honor his life as one of quiet strength and always getting things done. We will remember his legacy.
Graveside services and interment were held on Friday, December 22 at 11 a.m. in the Grapetown Cemetery, 7905 Old San Antonio Road, Grapetown, Texas 78624.
