James Mark Burns
James Mark Burns
Mark, as he was known to all, was born in Odessa, Texas, to parents Alda Naomi (Farar) and Robert S. Burns. After the family moved to Houston, Mark graduated from Bellaire High School in 1971 and later from Texas A&M in 1976. Following many years of working in the banking and financial Burns services industry, Mark followed a more creative dream and began his own remodeling business, Boerne Kitchens and Baths and Boerne Pro Painters, where he truly enjoyed helping his clients achieve their design visions.
Mark is survived by his loving wife Sheryl (Sheri) L. Burns; his 3 sisters, Ricki (Edwina Joyce) Teal, Robin Lynn Russell, and Kathy Rae Holler (Robert); nieces Cheryl White (Stuart), Rae Cano (Robert), Reyna McGinnis (Arthur), and Shenandoah Hafner-Ashby; nephews John Paul Luna III and Michael Hafner; and dozens of grand-nieces and nephews and great-grand-nieces and nephews who dearly loved “Uncle Mark.”
Private services for the family will be held in Conroe, Texas. Plans for an informal Celebration of Life to be held in Boerne, Texas are pending.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers to please consider a donation in Mark’s name to The American Cancer Society or to Operation BBQ Relief.
