Glenda Mae Frantzen Wilke of Boerne, Texas, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024, at the age of 78. She was born Jan. 8, 1946, in Fredericksburg, Texas, the first child of Rudy and Olga Kensing Frantzen.

Glenda grew up in the Doss and Fredericksburg, Texas, area and attended St. Mary’s High School, graduating in 1963. She was an honor student, football sweetheart and Fredericksburg Fire Department’s Miss Flame.

She attended Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio for one year. She worked for Mooney Aircraft in Kerrville and Kelly Air Force Base in civil service before retiring in 2004.

After retirement, she enjoyed baking, spoiling her five grandchildren and spending time with her hunting adventures at the ranch in Rock Springs, Texas.

On Jan. 30, 1965, she married William Wilke at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fredericksburg. They were married for 57 years before his passing in 2022.

They lived in Fredericksburg and San Antonio for the next five years. In 1970, they moved to Boerne, where they built a house and raised their two children, Tammy and Chad.

Glenda is preceded in death by her husband, William Wilke, her parents, Rudy and Olga Frantzen, and one brother, Gerald Frantzen.

She is survived by one daughter, Tammy (Charles) Brodrick; one son, Chad (Shanna) Wilke, and five grandchildren, John (Rachael) Brodrick, Ashley Brodrick, James Brodrick, Carson Wilke and Sullivan Wilke Barnet (Jacob); and one great-grandchild, Cole Brodrick.

She is also survived by four brothers, Gary (Raynette) Frantzen, Ronnie Frantzen, Glen (Sandra Baker) Frantzen and Ricky (Maren) Frantzen; one sister- in-law, Alicia Frantzen Burris; and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.

A memorial service is planned for noon Aug. 17, 2024, at Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home in Boerne.
