Robert Allamon
Robert Allamon
July 29, 1938 June 28, 2024
, better known as Bobby or Bubba to his family and friends, passed away on June 28, 2024, in Boerne, Texas.
Bobby was born on July 29, 1938, in Belton, Texas, to Guy and Florence Allamon. Bobby was the second youngest of his three siblings, Lanita, Donny and Betty. Bobby attended Salado High School. After high school, he began working at Western Electric before joining the U.S. Army in 1958.
On Nov. 6, 1961, while serving his term, Bobby married Renate Muhlenbeck in Boblingen, Germany. This would be the beginning of a beautiful 58-year journey together.
On March 16, 1962, Bobby and Renate welcomed their first child, Vivian, while still in Germany.
Bobby would go on to become sergeant and receive an honorable discharge from the Army in October 1964. He would move the family back to Texas, where Renate would become a U.S. citizen in February 1966. Just a year later, their son Glenn was born Dec. 12, 1967, in Austin, Texas.
Bobby would return to Western Electric, which later became Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, and moved the family to Boerne in 1973 after accepting a position with the company in San Antonio. Bobby would go on to become a highly regarded area manager with Southwestern and retired on Dec. 31, 1991, after 35 years of dedicated service.
As the years progressed and the kids grew up, “Bubba” and “Nati’s” passion for travel became more apparent. They traveled the world a bit before selling their treasured home in Boerne and moving to Lake Tahoe, Nevada, in 1995. After a year in Nevada, they purchased a motor home to finish their travel of the continental U.S.
Biloxi, Mississippi, would become one of their favorite resting spots in the wintertime. In the summers, they would always make it a point to visit family and friends at the RV Park in Boerne or the annual reunions in Stonewall, Texas.
In 2003, they would sell the motor home and turn Biloxi into their permanent residence. They lived together in Biloxi until Renate’s untimely passing on July 26, 2020.
After, Bobby would spend time in Florida with his son Glenn and daughter-in-law Erzsebet, before spending the last leg of his life with his daughter Vivian and son-in-law William. He passed peacefully and on his own terms at their home in Boerne.
Bobby and Renate were one of a kind. Together they brought happiness and perspective to all who had the pleasure of knowing them. Their love was unwavering and unconditional and will truly be missed by many.
Robert Allamon is gone but he will never be forgotten, and his memory will be with us throughout our remaining days.
He is survived by his daughter, Vivian and son-in-law William; son, Glenn Allamon and daughter-in-law Erzsebet; his grandchildren, Collin Sotello and his wife Janice, Cheyenne Walz and her husband Trey, Tiffany Fowler and her husband John, Eva Jonas, and Bernadett Galliher and her husband Ken; and great-grandchildren Noah, Kimber, Thompson, Grayson and Bowen. He is also survived by his youngest sister, Betty.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. July 17, 2024, in Boerne Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Bobby’s name to your favorite charity.
