Paul Ernest Mock of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas, passed away peacefully in his home, June 6, 2024. He was 74 years old and was surrounded by his loving family, and loyal dog, Buddy.
Paul graduated from Claremont High School in 1968. He graduated from La Verne College in 1972. Paul received his commission in 1972 through ROTC at Claremont Men’s College and spent 37 years in the U.S. Army Reserves.
Paul retired at the rank of major general in December 2008. He retired as a lieutenant from the Los Angeles Police Department after 25 years in 1998.
Paul served as an infantry officer, special forces officer, psychological operations officer, and quartermaster corps officer. He was mobilized in support of multiple operations throughout his career.
After retirement he was selected as the National Chair for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) where he served for 4 years. He volunteered for many organizations that assisted veterans and their families. Paul has received many awards and medals throughout his career, as well as for his volunteerism.
Paul is predeceased by his parents, Marjorie and Ernest Mock. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Karen; their two children, Tracy Mock of Boerne, Texas, and David Mock of Idaho; and three grandsons, Austin and Nolan Wahl of Boerne, and Jacob Mock of Carlsbad, California.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 19, at Fort Sam Houston.
