The Patrick Heath Public Library invites you to a spectacular celebration of culture and tradition on Jan. 25 at 10:30 a.m., as we ring in the Chinese New Year with a vibrant performance by the Chinese Culture Performance Association of San Antonio.

Immerse yourself in the rich heritage of this centuries-old festival as talented dancers, adorned in dazzling, hand-crafted silk costumes, bring traditional Chinese dances to life. Don’t miss this chance to celebrate the Year of the Snake and discover the beauty of Chinese culture right here in our community.

Dinosaur Storytime

Get ready for a dinomite adventure on Feb. 8 at the Herff Farmer’s Market Vintage Farmhouse.

Join us starting at 10:30 a.m. for a special Dinosaur- themed storytime featuring a roaring good tale, fun sing-alongs and a hands-on dino craft.

Families can also enjoy a tasty snack to fuel their prehistoric fun. Don’t miss this chance to stomp, chomp, and roar your way through a morning of family- friendly activities.

Valentine’s Day Storytime

Celebrate the season of love with a special Valentine’s- themed storytime at the Herff Farmer’s Market Vintage Farmhouse at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 15.

Enjoy a seasonal story, sing along to cheerful songs, and get creative with a fun Valentine’s craft. Children will also be treated to a sweet snack to complete this delightful morning. Don’t miss this chance to share the joy of the holiday in a cozy, rustic setting. Bring the whole family and make memories together.

Black history celebration with ‘Percussion Things’ Mark your calendars for Feb. 22 for a special program celebrating Black History Month with an engaging, interactive drum circle led by Percussion Things.

Beginning at 10:30 a.m., this family-friendly event at the library will transport you around the globe through captivating stories and dynamic rhythms.

Storyteller Catherine Whiteman will enchant listeners with tales of African American history, while percussionists Len Barnett and Nestor Salazar will energize participants with an inspiring drum demonstration, complete with audience participation.

Blending interactive storytelling, family-focused sketch comedy and high-energy percussion, Percussion Things delivers a lively, fast-paced celebration of culture through words, sound and movement.

This program is made possible thanks to a generous grant from the Texas Commission on the Arts, whose support helps bring enriching and culturally significant experiences to our community.

Thursday, 9:30 a.m.: Book Babies. Baby Storytime for ages 0 through 2.

Thursday, 3:30 p.m.: Game On! Nintendo Switch gaming fun for elementaryaged kiddos.
