Lady Chargers pound Patriots in 26-5A opener

The Boerne Champion girls soccer team had a solid start to district play after they posted a shutout against Veterans Memorial in their 26-5Aopener Tuesday at Charger Field.

It’s Champion’s first shutout this season and it’s also their largest margin of victory after they defeated the Lady Patriots, 6-0.

The Lady Chargers are 2-3 overall and visited Smithson Valley Friday. They are scheduled to be off Tuesday and then host Alamo Heights next Friday.

Champion was consistent on Tuesday with 3 goals in each half and was led by Macy O’Dell after the sophomore recorded a hat trick with 3 goals.

Grace Johnson, Kendall Ford and Jayme Harrell all knocked in one goal apiece.

Kenzie Fuller finished with 2 assists and Carsyn Bradley and Meredith Plank both registered single assists.
