The Boerne High softball team picked up another run rule victory in district play after the Lady Hounds defeated Canyon Lake on Tuesday, 16-0.
BHS improves to 22-5 overall and 8-0 in district. They were in action Thursday against Fredericksburg and a win against the Battlin’ Billies gives Boerne this year’s district title.

Seven of Boerne’s district wins have come via the run rule. The only one that wasn’t came in the first round against Fred, Thursday’s opponent.
Boerne didn’t waste any time jumping on the Hawks on Tuesday and tallied 7 runs in the first and 8 in the second.
Boerne took a 15-0 lead into the third and Canyon Lake hadn’t even batted through its line up once.
After the Hawks didn’t score in the third, Boerne added one more run and the mercy rule kicked in.
BHS finished with 10 hits in the game and had one home run after Madi Dorrow hit one out of the park. Dorrow also singled, walked, scored twice and picked up 4 RBI.
Brooke Sivek hit 3 singles and scored twice; Ava Renteria singled, pushed in 3 runs and scored 2 runs; Cameron Cooper hit 2 singles, drove in 3 runs and scored once; Ava Rodriguez hit 2 singles; Reese Wilson walked twice, scored twice and picked up an RBI; Taryn Madlock drove in a run; Taylor Wilson scored twice and Isa Renteria scored 3 runs.
Rodriguez earned the win on 56 pitches and gave up 2 hits, no runs and 1 walk to go with 5 strikeouts.
