The Boerne Champion boys soccer team kicked off district action Tuesday with a visit to Veterans Memorial.
Champion entered 26-5A action winless and the Chargers are still looking for their first victory of the season after they played the Patriots to a 1-1 draw.
Champion is 0-0-1 in district and 0-4-2 overall. They were home Friday and hosted Smithson Valley. After that, the Chargers are off Tuesday and resume district action next Friday at Alamo Heights.
Champion had a promising start in Tuesday’s match and tallied a goal just three minutes into the game after Bentley McCool scored on the assist by Caleb Dehart.
However, the Chargers didn’t score in the final 77 minutes but held a 1-0 lead until the 75th minute when Veterans Memorial knocked in the equalizer and it stayed at 1-1 the rest of the way.
