Before their game with Castle Hills, the Geneva School of Boerne boys basketball team started with a celebration for Wyatt Bruss after he joined the 1,000point club.
The Eagles made sure the night ended with a celebration as well after they defeated Castle Hills, 77-45.
Geneva closes out the first round of district at 6-0 and in first place. The Eagles are 24-4 overall and hosted Schertz John Paul II Friday and visit Holy Cross Tuesday.
Schertz JP II paid special attention to Bruss, but other Eagles players were able to take advantage after Colton Lutz and Jake Roberson both netted 28 points apiece for 56 of their 77 points.
Jack Walker Harden also had a solid night with 7 points and 7 assists.
Eagles coach Julius McNeal said he’s looking forward to second-round district action.
“The second round through district will help us see where we are as a team,” he said. “I know we play some teams that will throw some different things at us. We have to be able to adjust and continue to play together. When we play together, we are pretty solid.”
