The Geneva School of Boerne girls basketball team posted a 3-1 record at the Hill Country Classic Tournament held Monday and Tuesday in Boerne.
The Eagles improved to 17-4 overall and returned to district play Friday at home against Corpus Christi John Paul II. They visit Corpus Christi Incarnate Word on Tuesday for another league game.
Geneva defeated Frassati Catholic to open the tourney, 61-28, and then lost to St. Pius, 48-43.
St. Pius went on to win the tourney with a 4-0 record and they are one of the few teams that has defeated the Eagles this season. They’ve handed Geneva two of their four losses so far.
The Eagles returned on Tuesday and picked up two more wins on New Year’s Eve. They defeated Savio, 53-44, and then closed out the event with a 58-27 victory over the Cotton Pickers from Robstown.
It was their second meeting with Savio and Geneva turned the tables on them after the Eagles lost to them in a tournament earlier in the year by two points.
Geneva’s 3-1 record at the tourney was the second best by a girls team behind St. Pius at 4-0.
