Charger swimmers shine at South Zone TISCA meet

SAN ANTONIO – Before the Christmas break, the Boerne Champion swim team was entered in the South Zone TISCA meet in San Antonio at Blossom and had a strong showing.

The Lady Chargers were 2nd with 429 points and the Champion boys finished 7th with 231.5 points. In the combined team standings, the Chargers were 3rd with 660.5 points.

“A” Final Results Varsity Girls

Champion’s Karly Whitehead, Kate Canales, Cameron Kellogg and Cora Skoog teamed up for 1st in the 400yard medley relay with a time of 3:50.55.

Whitehead, Canales, Kellogg and Skoog also combined for another 1st-place finish after they won the 200-yard medley relay after recording a 1:45.92.

In the 200-yard free relay, Addison Graham, Meghan Jackson, Madilynne Neuman and Skoog finished 3rd with a time of 1:41.24, while the 400-yard freestyle relay of Skoog, Whitehead, Kellogg and Canales came in 2nd after recording a 3:32.01.

Canales has several 1st-place individual finishes after she won the 50-yard breaststroke when she finished in a time of 29.54, she took 1st in the 100-yard IM after she posted a 57.43 and topped the field in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:52.

Canales was also 3rd in the 50 butterfly after posting a 25.64 and was 3rd in the 100yard freestyle with a time of 51.46.

Skoog took 2nd in the 800meter freestyle in a time of 7:43.66 and was 4th in the 50 free after she turned in a 23.95.

Whitehead placed 3rd in the 200-yard backstroke with a 2:05.40 and was 5th in the 100-yard backstroke after she finished in 58.40.

Addison Graham was 5th in the 200-yard breaststroke after she completed the race in 2:28.60 and Kellogg posted a 4:42.15 for 3rd in the 400-yard IM and Kellogg was 4th in the 200-yard IM after she touched the wall in a time of 2:10.74.

Varsity Boys

In the 400-yard freestyle relay, William Tolar, Carson Muenchow, Will Harrison and Bexon Harrison teamed up for 2nd in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:13.24.

The Harrison boys, along with Ethan Altermatt and Tolar combined for a time of 3.36.44 for 4th in the 400yard medley relay, Bexon Harrison also won several individual races as well after he captured 1st in the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:50.83, he took 1st in the 100-yard breaststroke after he posted a 56.82 and was 1st in the 50-yard butterfly after he swam a 22.16.

Bexon also won the 50-yard breaststroke with his time of 26.25 and he won the 100-yard IM after posting a 50.88.

Tolar finished 6th in the 50 free with a time of 22.16, Will Harrison placed 8th in the 100-yard butterfly after recording a 54.01 and Muenchow came in 5th in the 500-yard freestyle with a 4:58.60.
