The Comfort boys basketball squad hosted an afternoon game last Thursday at 1 p.m. when the Bobcats tangled with Bracken Christian before the Christmas break.
Bracken Christian had been playing well entering Thursday’s afternoon matinee and had won seven straight.
Comfort has also been playing well and the Bobcats were able to defeat the Warriors, 50-42, to stop the Warriors’ win streak at seven and drop their overall record to 15-3.
Comfort improves to 11-5 overall and returns to the court after Christmas when they play in the Johnson City tournament on Dec. 27-28.
The Cats open the tourney with games against Marion and Kenedy on that first day.
After that, Comfort has a few more non-district games before opening league play on Friday, Jan. 10, at home against Ingram, 7:30 p.m.
