Geneva girls coast to 74-5 victory
The Geneva School of Boerne girls were at New Braunfels Christian Academy Tuesday for a district basketball game and cruised to a lopsided win, 74-5.
Geneva is 3-0 in district and improved to 13-3 overall. The Eagles hosted Incarnate Word Thursday in Boerne.
After that, the Eagles will take off a few days before hosting the Hill Country Classic Holiday Tournament on the Geneva campus, Dec. 30-31.
Geneva’s Kyra Petty led all scorers with 22 points, Maegan Riebel finished with 13 points and Grace Detterick netted 11 as three Eagles finished in double figures.
Payton Boles and Sopris Oglesby both netted 8, Madeline Egbert and Morgan Howard dropped in 4 points apiece and Reese Smith tallied 2.
Riebel almost made it a triple double after she dished out 10 assists and collected 9 rebounds to go with her 13 points. Riebel also had 5 steals, while Petty recorded 7 steals and 7 assists.
