The Geneva School of Boerne boys basketball team took to the hardwood last Friday in their district home opener vs. Holy Cross and the Eagles recorded the 72-56 victory.
Geneva is 14-2 overall and 2-0 in district. The Eagles were at New Braunfels Christian Tuesday with both teams entering the contest at 2-0 in league play. After that, Geneva plays play in the Marble Falls Faith Academy tourney this weekend.
In last Friday’s game, the Eagles were in control for most of the game and pushed the lead to 26 in the fourth quarter before winning by 16 points.
Geneva head coach Julius McNeal said it was a great team effort, especially on defense.
“I was proud of our defensive effort,” he said. “We did a good job of not allowing second-chance points and pushing the pace on offense.”
Jake Roberson led Geneva with 30 points, Wyatt Bruss added 26 points and Colton Lutz tallied 16 as the trio combined for all 72 points.
